Travelex Cash Passport Cards are prepaid travel money cards that are available in 7 currencies. Originally created as a replacement for travellers cheques they are a safe and convenient way to take, and spend, your money overseas.

The cards are designed for use overseas. Two cards are issued so that you are never stuck without access to your funds, plus you can get free replacement cards if your cards are lost or stolen.

By purchasing your card in a foreign currency (eg Euro) you can lock in the current exchange rate and take advantage of good exchange rates when the Aussie Dollar is strong - or know that you won't lose out if the Dollar is falling. The cards are available in US Dollars, Euros, UK Pounds, New Zealand Dollars, Hong Kong Dollars and Singapore Dollars plus Australian Dollars for all other destinations.

Getting your foreign currency organised is often the last item on your list of things to do before going away so the last thing you want to hear is that your bank doesn't have any in stock (or only has large denominations) and that it may take a week to get it in for you.

As Currency Exchange specialists we keep a stock of currencies - at least 20 and usually over 30 - on hand at all times, in a range of denominations.

As well as the "usual" currencies (US, Euro, UK Pounds, Japanese Yen and New Zealand Dollars) we keep a stock of what we refer to as the "Holiday" currencies such as Thai Baht, Indonesian Rupiah, Fiji Dollars, Vietnamese Dong, Hong Kong Dollars, Chinese Yuan (Renminbi), Egyptian Pounds and many more. We have access to over 50 currencies.

We know that you don't always just want large bills so we keep a range of denominations - US $1 bills (handy for tipping), UK and Euro 5s, Thai 100s etc. Also, if you need specific denominations we are able to order them in for you.

Sometimes there is a big run on a currency (for example a school group of 30 children might be going to Japan) so it is best to call us before you come in so that we can keep your money aside. Even if we don't have the currency you are after straight away we can get it in very quickly - usually in a couple of days at most.

We really want your left over travel money!

To prove this we make sure that our buy rates (rate to buy from you) beat all of the bank rates - plus we don't charge any fees. We regularly check the banks' rates to make sure that you will always receive more money for your foreign cash with us than anywhere else.

This also means that overseas visitors get a great deal. So if you have friends and family visiting from overseas then they will save money by changing with us.

With the banks in Australia charging up to $10 per currency (plus percentages) to change your money to Australian Dollars you can save yourself quite a bit of cash - especially if you have several currencies or only small amounts.

So if you have any foreign currency (large or small) come to us and get the most money back for it.

At The Currency Exchange in Brookvale and Wollongong all we are is a Currency Exchange - we buy and sell foreign currency and prepaid travel money cards. By specialising we can focus on what is important to you in regards to your travel money.

We won't try to sell you any add on products (such as travel insurance), cross sell you to other more lucrative products (such as mortgages), or try to sell you add ons to your holiday (transfers, day tours etc). If you want to know these things we can point you in the right direction, but we won't assume that you need to know.
