At Travelex in Brookvale and Wollongong all we are is a Currency Exchange - we buy and sell foreign currency and prepaid travel money cards. By specialising we can focus on what is important to you in regards to your travel money.
We won't try to sell you any add on products (such as travel insurance), cross sell you to other more lucrative products (such as mortgages), or try to sell you add ons to your holiday (transfers, day tours etc). If you want to know these things we can point you in the right direction, but we won't assume that you need to know.
Everyone's needs are different so we won't make assumptions about what you need but in general we advise taking a mix of products for your trip:
- Make sure you have some local currency for when you arrive (where possible)
Use a Travelex Cash Passport Card (Prepaid Travel Money Card) for the bulk of your spending and for ATM withdrawals
Take a few US $1 bills with you for small tipping
Keep an empty credit card as a backup and for emergencies - in case you need to buy new air tickets etc
We can advise you on the best products or local requirements for your destination - eg there are not many ATMs in Fiji or Japan, there are VISA fees when arriving in Indonesia (US$25) and Egypt (US$15).
