Purchasing a Cash Passport Card

Cash Passport Prepaid Currency Card

Initial Purchase

The quickest and easiest way for you to purchase your Cash Passport Card is to come into one of our stores. You'll need to fill in an application form (which you can download in advance if you want to save some time). In all it only takes 5-10 minutes and you'll be walking out with your cards before you know it.

All you need to bring is your ID (Drivers Livence is best) and your money - we accept Cash, EFTPOS (don't forget your daily limit) and Credit Cards (1% surcharge applies). We also accept Direct Deposits which are best organised in advance. More information on Direct Deposits and other forms of payment is available here.

There is no charge to open a card in foreign currency, but fees do apply if the card is in Australian Dollars. Our full list of fees is available here.

Your cards will be live in just a couple of hours (by that evening a the latest), so you can even purchase them on your way to the airport.

Reloading your card

There are several ways to reload your card. Our preferred methods are in store or by Direct Deposit to our account.

In store is very similar to the initial purchase and can be done by your or anyone that you choose to give your card details to (only one card number is required and the PIN is not required). Whoever loads the card needs to provide ID.

If you choose to load your cards using Direct Deposit we will reload your cards as soon as we receive the funds. This is overnight with most banks (or same day with the NAB). If you didn't originally purchase your card from one of our stores (Brookvale or Wollongong) we will also need to get ID from you - either by Fax or Email. More information on Direct Deposits and other forms of payment is available here.

There is no charge to reload a card in foreign currency, but fees do apply if the card is in Australian Dollars. Our full list of fees is available here.

You can also reload via Bpay or SMS - a 1% fee applies. This takes 2-4 days - or longer if there is a weekend involved. There is also a limit of $1000 on SMS reloads.

Cashing Out a Cash Passport Card

When you return from your trip you have the option of keeping it for a future trip or cashing it out.

If you decide to cash it out you need to bring it in to us with some ID and we will verify the balance, close the card and give you your cash back. We can either give you cash or pay the funds back into your bank account.

If the card is in foreign currency there is no charge for this, if it is in Australian Dollars there is a $10 fee.
